La Paz

The city of La Paz, meaning “Peace” is the state capital of Baja California Sur and it is located in the south of the peninsula. It is well known for its warm and tranquil environment perfect for weekend getaways. The combination of desert, water and sky makes this city unlike any other. The warm waters of the clear blue Gulf of California and the many small, white sand beaches are irresistible. La Paz is home to the famous malecón, which is a wide and long sidewalk on the beach that passes through the whole city. Across from the malecón, the street is packed with old, enchanting bed & breakfast hotels, cute little inns, and small hotels that all overlook the street to the view of the breathtaking Gulf of California Ocean. The street is also filled with various authentic Mexican restaurants, many Mexican jewelry and art boutiques and even a small skate park for kids to enjoy.

La paz is the meeting point for the many guided visits to the captivating islands in the nearby areas. These tours take visitors camping, scuba diving and/or snorkeling at the beautiful islands known as “The Aquarium of the World”, filled with an extraordinary amount of sea creatures and organisms in the breathtaking world under the sea.
